Today in Ukraine, we have the opportunity to make a real difference.

Across our country today, people are facing an incredible threat. Homes and cities have been destroyed, families have been separated, and thousands of people have fled from the ongoing conflict – trying to find safety.

For many Ukrainians, those who want to remain in their homeland, families who want to stay united – a longer-term housing plan is vital.

That’s why today in Uzhhorod, construction has begun on Tiny Homes that will provide longer-term sustainable housing for families who need support immediately.

Even before the conflict began – we were here in Uzhhorod working in partnership with 7 local churches and 10 local organizations on holistic work across our city – helping to create sustainable solutions for people on the margins of society. Entrepreneurial training programs, local partnerships, disciple-making, and sustainable community development projects have created real transformation and lasting impact.

As the war escalated, our team saw the urgent need for safe temporary housing and established several temporary housing locations. As refugees and internally displaced people poured in from cities like Kyiv and Odesa – these temporary shelters grew from 2 to 11 locations – with 550 beds.

But these temporary housing shelters run by partners in the Transform Uzhhorod Alliance were filling quickly – and only provide shelter for one or two nights. It became clear quickly that something more sustainable was necessary.

These Tiny Homes will solve the housing issue for a significant number of families and individuals – will be an environment where families can thrive without the stress of living in a temporary bed – and will offer safety, access to local employment, and impactful community for every family

Now - we are asking you to join us in building these homes and creating a longer-term sustainable housing solution for families in Ukraine. After the war, these homes will continue to generate revenue to fuel initiatives to bring lasting change amidst Ukraine's overwhelming needs.
